ANSYS 005 w/ Prince Rapid (Ruff Sqwad) + More

Following on from the incredible techno we had last month, we're super excited to announce our biggest grime lineup yet, featuring a rare booking of the absolute legend that is Prince Rapid from Ruff Sqwad. Rapid is responsible for both producing and featuring on some of our favourite grime tracks, so we're truly honoured to have him down!

In addition to this we have Sinta from Double Clapperz all the way over from Tokyo for his Brighton debut, and previous guests Mordecai and Lolingo back to smash it once again! This is going to be mad! Rapid hasn't played Brighton for a very long time and it's super rare to catch a legend of his calibre in such an intimate venue, so grab yourself a ticket now to guarantee entry!

Prince Rapid (Ruff Sqwad)

Prince Rapid is known as an original member of the innovative and talented rap group Ruff Sqwad. Coming from East London, Ruff Sqwad are true grime pioneers, hugely responsible for bringing the genre to the attention of a wider mainstream audience than ever before.

As well as producing and featuring on countless tracks for Ruff Sqwad, Rapid has also produced tracks for almost every great in the scene, from Dizzee Rascal! to KANO, and Chipmunk to Wiley. We really don't need to give this guy a description, if you know you know, if you don't then educate yourself, or better still get yourseves down to Sticky Mike's and let Rapid educate you himself!

Sinta (Double Clapperz)

All the way from Toyko for his Brighton debut, Sinta is one half of the Grime outfit Double Clapperz. After a hookup with Top Billin Music, their self released debut 12" vinyl ''VIP'' containing their tremendous remix of Ruff Sqwad's Pied Piper was what first brought them to our attention.

Proving very popular in Japan, with numerous gigs under their belt across the country, Double Clapperz have also performed with Skepta on Boiler Room Tokyo, and have supported Novelist, AJ Tracey, and Darq E Freaker to name a few. Repping the Tokyo Grime scene they competed with grime producers in wardub jp grime online competition, in which they attracted public attention by reaching the finals. Double Clapperz have had their music featured on global online radio stations such as Rinse FM and NTS Radio. Additionally they have had further support from leading artists such as Murlo, Spooky Bizzle and Boofy, and their semi-regular slot on Radar Radio gives them the oppurtunity to broaden their UK influence.

A member of The Square, Lolingo has frequently collaborated with artists such as Novelist, Elf Kid and DeeJillz. With releases on Boxed and Skeen Records, Lolingo is a consistent producer of quality grime music and we’re super excited to be bringing him to Brighton once again! Himself and Streema are responsible for producing The Square's anthem ‘Pengaleng’, and Lolingo is the brains behind the beat used for Blakie's 'Can't See Them' and Elf Kid’s recent hit ‘Golden Boy’, which has been met with phenomenal success.

Bristol raised and now London based Mordecai is back after impressing us back at our launch party last year! With his productions varying from a more traditional grime sound to a fresher RnG style, Mordecai released his 'Lakeview Drive' EP on Bristol based label Pear Drops at the back end of 2016, which made it into Mixmag top 10 Grime/Bass releases of the month. As well as this his tracks have seen plays on BBC Radio 1Xtraand Rinse FM, after hearing his recent guest mix for the Liquid Ritual show on Radar Radio, we can’t wait to see what he has to offer when he goes b2b with Lolingo for us!
